The 4th Training Squadron traces it's history back to the year 1942, when on 27 June it was constituted as the 4th Army Air Forces Flying Training Detachment. It was later activated on 10 July 1942 at Ranking Aeronautical Academy, Tulare, California. The Unit was disbanded on 30 April 1944.The 4th Training Squadron is unique in that it is the single source of academic and device training for all USAF aircrew upgrading in the F-15E Strike Eagle.
